I was tasked to cover the work done by 3rd Battalion Singapore Guards in support of the annual National Day Parade celebrating Singapore's independence. This proved to be a lesson in both security clearances as well as locations. I was required to capture the       pre-parade training conducted by the military as well as to photograph civilian involvement in the parade. This extended to working from heights as well as being stationed on fireworks safety control boats. I was required to make connections with my subjects to accurately find out how they would like to be portrayed so as to weave that into the overall coverage. This proved to be one of the longest photography operations as it had to be worked on continuously for a few months.
